Medical Questions
What is Erectile Dysfunction?
Experiencing erectile dysfunction (ED) can sometimes be a normal occurrence, especially after excessive use of alcohol.
For 20% of men ED becomes a chronic problem when an erection does not occur or when an erection is not sufficient to
complete sexual intercourse. There are successful treatments of ED. These remedies are prescription-only medicines because
of their potency and should not be used under certain conditions such as severe heart and liver problems, or when using
nitrates for chest pain. These medications, after sexual excitement, can stimulate the blood flow to the penis, and allow you
to obtain an erection that can last throughout the entire sexual encounter.
